Steamboat Run Retreat
This design is the update and expansion of a dated rancher to better accommodate a family with teenage children in a rustic style suitable to the home’s wooded site. The center of the home was reconfigured, and a family room, study, and screened porch were added along the back, facing downhill into the woods.
The dining room was placed in the front, the open kitchen with coffered beam ceiling in the center, and the vaulted family room with fireplace at the back, with the three rooms open to each other. The exterior of the home was re-clad in cedar siding and new windows and roofing were installed.
